Who can save England
So we did abysmally in the World Cup- (did we really think otherwise??). Was it the players awful performances ( or lack of them), or was it the Managers choice of players. it seems like it’s the same old song we sing every time England take to the field and fail. Blame the decisions, blame the injuries, blame the long season our players have. Just who is to blame. If Capello had asked Paul Scholes personally, instead of sending a message through one of his staff members, and he had donned the jersey, would he have made a difference. Well one things for sure you would have got 100% effort from him. If Beckham had been fit, would he have made a difference, same thing 100%. Can we say the same about the Barrys and the Lampards and the woeful Heskey. Surely the time has come to choose young, hungry players and mix them with the experience of Gerrard and Rooney. Otherwise we are going to have moving money that could be used for better facilities into Hair Restoration. Do they have to play in the Premiership, why??
I would think that some of the Championship players could only dream of putting on the three lions and getting their chance. Shouldn’t we try it and see. We can’t do any worse then we are at the moment and with a succession of failed Managers all following the same mantra it has to be time for change. We bang on about our world class players- let’s get real, we don’t have any. The cry for a British Manager is strong, could this be the way forward. Look at the New Zealand team , made up of guys who hold down day jobs and occasionally put on a footie shirt. If they can achieve then surely there’s hope for us yet. But how??
